2.  The provincial Government of Alberta:

3.  The lieutenant governor is the Queen’s representative in the provincial government.  The prime minister recommends a person for the job of lieutenant Governor and the Governor General appoints that person  The lieutenant governor must sign a bill that is passed by the legislative assembly in order for that bill to become law.

4. Provincial Governments provide services:  Children's services.  Health and wellness.  Energy.  Tourism and parks.  Seniors and community support.  Education.  Agriculture and food.  Aboriginal relations.  And Sustainable Resources.

5.  Taxes pay for the services:  Almost half of the taxes Albertans pay go towards our health.  And a quarter to Education.  The other 43.9 % go to transportation, social services and agricultural development.  The amount of taxes Albertans pay depends on the amount they make in income.

6.  Representatives usually have a political party that has the same ideas as them. Alberta has four very common political parties. The progressive conservative, Liberal, New democratic Party, and Alberta alliance. During a political election candidates run for positions on the legislative assembly one MLA is elected in each of Albertans 83 voting districts.

7. MLA’s Cabinet Ministers  Serve the needs of people in there constituency.  Debate and vote on bills  Attend events and celebrations  Work on government committees to study proposed bills and  Decide how money will be spent on programs  Meet with the premier  to discuss what should be done.  Create a budget  Research write and vote on bills  Serve MLA’s for their constituency
