ATSI Women’s Fund & Initiatives - Vision “Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and girls will live long fulfilling lives where they are healthy, free from violence, are able to achieve the level of academic, economic, political and independence they choose, are aware of their human rights, are free from discrimination, practice self-determination, and their culture, language and land continues to be maintained and cherished by themselves, their people, governments and the wider Australian community.”

3. ATSI Women’s Fund - Objectives The primary objective of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Women’s Fund is to enhance the lives of ATSI women and girls and to ensure their human and other rights are maintained through: Encouraging and supporting cultural knowledge and understanding; Reinforcing cultural identity and diversity, including our many Indigenous languages;

ATSI Women’s Fund - Objectives Working towards zero violence, and towards individual and community safety; Helping to improve primary health and emotional well-being and avoiding self-harm; Increasing knowledge and understanding of individual and ATSI human rights; Supporting the capacity of women to achieve economic and political empowerment;

ATSI Women’s Fund - Objectives Supporting leadership and governance development in individuals, groups and women’s organisations; Advocating for viable ATSI women led enterprise development and sustainability; Providing presentations, forums, conferences and other events that lead to the education of Indigenous women and the wider community to raise awareness of issues that need to be achieved or overcome if our Vision is to achieved;

6. ATSI Women’s Fund - Objectives When considered necessary or appropriate, auspice funding, resources or projects and activities for other groups, including disadvantaged groups. Developing and implementing programs, projects and research that support the Vision, Mission and Objectives of the Fund.

7. ATSI Women’s Initiatives - Mission The Mission …. is to seek funding and to administer it in a way that will enable the association to undertake projects, research, training and promotional and support activities that will lead towards the enhancement of Indigenous women and girls across Australia so that they live safe, fulfilling and empowered lives. We will do this directly or through supporting our Indigenous women’s groups or organisations that are set up to assist Indigenous women.
