2 Tin Can 7 - The Galapagos effect 2 The Galápagos Islands The Galápagos Islands (Archipiélago de Colón in Spanish) are a group of islands in the Pacific Ocean belonging to Ecuador. The islands are famous for having many native animals, including giant tortoises. These animals helped Charles Darwin make his theory of Natural Selection when he visited the islands in 1835 (Wikipedia).
