18 FALL BALL Focus will be on Strength & Conditioning ▪Core ▪Speed November ▪Skill Development ▪Drills (Fielding & Hitting) ▪Game situations ▪Strength & Conditioning After 6 th Period ▪Evaluate player performance ▪Projecting their future as a softball Warrior

19 IN SEASON Begins upon return from Winter Break Intensity level increases Competition between players becomes crucial for their development and our evaluations Pre-season Camp ▪3 Days a week ▪3PM to 4PM

20 IN SEASON Tryouts (February 7) from 2:15 to 4:00 Freshman on JV field Sophomores on Varsity Field Juniors & Seniors ▪On Varsity Field ▪4:30 PM to 6:30 PM Wednesday ▪Players will be placed on one of three teams for final evaluation ▪All athletes are rated on point value Final cuts and assigned teams will be made Thursday

21 IN SEASON Practice Monday through Friday Saturday practice will be at the discretion of the level coach Varsity start time will be 2:15 PM ▪If you are on time, you are late…if you are early, you are on time

22 REQUIRED PRACTICE UNIFORM WW shirt; otherwise turned inside-out ▪Blue, Gray, Orange, Black, or white ▪T-shirts will not be cut up Grey or Black pants Black Shorts Matching socks BE UNIFORMED

23 PRACTICE Duties will be assigned ▪Set up and clean up ▪Practice & Game Day ▪Personal items left on field after practice will result in pole runs

24 SPRING BREAK Varsity will participate in a tournament Plan your spring break accordingly Freshman and JV coach will schedule practice at their discretion

25 RESOLUTION PROCESS Our responsibility is to provide guidance for the athlete to problem solve and learn to make sound decisions. We will work with teachers within the scope of their classroom policies and procedures. Our athletes “In Process” will learn life skills beyond the playing field

26 PARENT COMMUNICATION We will not discuss concerns prior to games, during games Playing time will not be discussed Contact the level coach to schedule a time to meet. ▪ text, email, voice mail should only be used to set up a meeting. ▪In person meeting is the best communication method All conversations with you will be shared with Coach Hill

27 PROTOCOL ON COMMUNICATION OF CONCERNS Players are highly encouraged to speak with the coach. ▪Learn to problem solve and; ▪Not to rely upon parents to handle their concerns If still unresolved next step is: ▪Meeting with player, coach, & parent ▪With support of parent, the discussion is still focused on the player

28 PROTOCOL If still unresolved ▪Coach Hill/Athletic Director will meet with Parent, player, and coach to further discuss and clarify issues of concerns Discuss only your child ▪Do not compare to other athletes Other parents will not be involved in the discussion The purpose of this protocol is to resolve the issue during the first communication between player and coach.
