1 Plants in a Savanna By: Sheila Talty

2 Senegal Gum Acacia The Savanna has long periods of drought and the Senegal Gum Acacia had adapted to it. It also adapted to store water and having not lot of water. It also grows in sandy areas and Savanna’s are mostly sand.

3 Baobab The Baobab has adapted to store water in it’s trunk during the dry months so it can have water during the dry months. It also needs a warm climate.

4 Bermuda Grass In savanna’s there is poor soil so the Bermuda Grass has adapted to grow in poor soil. It has also adapted to grow where there has been fires or flooding. It prefers a dry and moist sometimes climate to live.

5 Elephant Grass Elephant grass needs a warm climate and the savanna has a warm climate for it to grow in. It also doesn't reproduce very well so it needs a warm climate so it doesn't die of frost.

6 Jackal Berry Tree The savanna has termites that aerate the land and the Jackal Berry Tree needs aerated soil. Also it likes a sandy ground and a Savanna has a sandy ground.

7 Jarrah Tree The Jarrah Tree has adapted to grow after fires because the savanna has many fires. Also it grows in sandy, or gravely soil.

8 Kangaroo Paw The Kangaroo Paw’s adaption is that it has little hairs on it so predators won’t eat them. Also the Kangaroo Paw grows in dry climates and the Savanna has a dry climate.

9 River Bush Willow The River Bush Willow has made an adaption to drop it’s leaves during dry periods to save water and energy. Also the River Bush Willow needs a dry Climate.

10 Umbrella Thorn Acacia One adaption the Umbrella Thorn Acacia made is to have long roots so it can get water during dry months. It also likes to live in a sandy soil.

11 Whistling Thorn One adaption the Whistling thorn made is to drop it’s leaves so it can save water. It also like a warm climate and grows better in a warm climate.
