2 The #1 priority in the science lab is safety. EVERYONE is responsible for safety. If an accident happens, tell the teacher immediately!!!

3 Safety Eye safety – wear goggles when using chemicals, flames, or heating devices. Flush eyes for 15 min. with water. Sharp object – Walk with point down Cut away from fingers and hands.

4 Heating chemicals – Always tie long hair back Read all labels 2 times before you use them.

5 OPERATING THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER PPull the Pin AAim the hose at the bottom SSqueeze the handle SSweep the hose back and forth.

6 Thermal safety Use caution when handling hot objects.

7 Clothing Protection Safety Substances could stain or burn clothing.

8 Fire Safety Care should be taken around an open flame.
