2. Dangerous… Volcanoes are very dangerous .They can
give out toxic fumes which are poisonous. If you fall in to a volcano you might as well be dead, well you wouldn’t have to because you’d already be dead!

3. The Pompeii Eruption
In 79ad, in a city called Pompeii, a volcano called Mount Vesuvius erupted covering Pompeii and a city called Herculaneum!

4. When did it happen?
It happened on 24th of August 79ad at midday.

5. How does a volcano form?
A volcano forms when two plates crash into one another and they can’t escape, and the only way left, is to go up. This is how a volcano forms.

A very unusual eruption is called a Plinian eruption, and it has no lava at all!
The Plinian eruption is named after the person who saved some people from Pompeii.
The Plinian eruption was the type of eruption in Pompeii.
