7 Copyright 2009 Air-Transport IT Services, Inc. – Proprietary and Confidential Business Object Classes and Objects –Classes are logical collections of objects that correspond to database tables, e.g., Agreements Class in the PROPworks® Universe maps to Agreements tables. –Objects correspond to table data columns. They are used to select data for reporting. Dimension objects retrieve data that provide report analysis. They are usually character-type data, e.g., Company Name. Measure objects retrieve numeric data, or data that is the result of calculations on data in the database. Measure objects can total, sum, and perform other dynamic functions.

9 Copyright 2009 Air-Transport IT Services, Inc. – Proprietary and Confidential Running Business Objects Reports 1.Log in and select the available Universe. 2.Drag and Drop Objects to the results window. 3.Create conditions to target specific results. 4.Click Run to generate the report and display it in the Report Manager. 5.Click the Slice and Dice icon to manipulate the report results further. 6.Name Your Report. 7.Once finalized, you can: –Email to another user. –Save to disk as an Excel, PDF, or txt file. –Save as a Web Page.

14 Copyright 2009 Air-Transport IT Services, Inc. – Proprietary and Confidential Report Manager  Data Tab –It contains a list of the variables and formulas in your report –Drag variables from this list and drop them directly into the report window –You can also create new variables or edit existing variables.  Map Tab –Navigation view: You use this view to go from report to report and from section to section within a report.. –Structure view: Displays a list of all the components in the selected report. Each report component (header, section, cell, table, chart etc.) is represented by an icon and a name..

Counts distinct rows for a dimension or detail object.  Percentage - Displays the selected data as a percentage.  Calculate the Sum of the selected data.  Variance - Calculates the difference between two selected values.  Percentage Variance - Calculates the difference between two selected values and displays the difference as a percentage.  Minimum / Maximum- Displays the minimum or maximum value of the selected data
