OBJECTIVES  To learn and become familiar with the AASL Standards for the 21st- Century Learner.  To build connections and integrate the AASL Standards for the 21st Century Learner and the Georgia Performance standards.  To learn how the AASL Standards for the 21 st Century Learner can increase student achievement.

Which of these goals do you have for your students?  I want my students to inquire, think critically, and gain knowledge.  I want my students to draw conclusions, make informed decisions, apply knowledge to new situations, and create new knowledge.  I believe that students should share knowledge and participate ethically and productively as members of our democratic society.  I want my students to pursue personal and aesthetic growth. C l i c k f o r A A S L S t a n d a r d s The Standards for the 21st Century Learner were developed by the American Association of School Librarians as a set of skills that learners in this century will need to succeed.  Inquire, think critically, and gain knowledge.  Draw conclusions, make informed decisions, apply knowledge to new situations, and create new knowledge.  Share knowledge and participate ethically and productively as members of our democratic society.  Pursue personal and aesthetic growth. These skills are presented in four main standards:
