What is SQ3R? Reading strategy started during World War II when soldiers had to quickly learn complicated information through reading. Why use SQ3R? In middle school you change from learning to read to reading to learn. In middle school you change from learning to read to reading to learn. Social Studies and Science books become more difficult to read and are often written above your grade level. SQ3R saves you time, makes it easier to learn and organize the material, and it helps you prepare for tests.
