Scribblers By Michael Borke

Outline 1. Scribbler Strengths and Weaknesses 2. Easiest things to do with it 3. Coolest things it can do 4. What I bring to the team (My “Secret Weapon”) 5. Things Scribby can’t do yet 6. Summary

Scribbler Strengths  Many different ways to interact and sense the environment  Can give feedback with beeps, lights and movement  Mobile and wireless  Very simple tool kit, yet with the potential for so much

Scribbler Weaknesses  CANNOT be given a program to run independent of the Fluke Bluetooth connection  Bluetooth is slow  Robots aren’t perfect  Needs a lot of calibration/pampering

Easiest  Movement  Simple behaviors  Singing Songs  Can draw  Simple image processing

Coolest  Many sensors = Potential for complex behavior  Could create a Tron type game using the line sensor and drawing capabilities  Using image processing and maze navigation to make two Scribblers play “Hide and Seek”  Controlling one with your phone via Bluetooth  Use network connection and multiple Scribblers

Personal Traits  Down to EARTH, realistic  FIERY passion to succeed, will never give up  Motivator, like WIND to a sail  Like WATER, goes with the flow and keeps the big picture in mind  A LOVE for learning

SECRET WEAPON

Hardest/Wish List  Ability to download instructions to the Scribbler via the Fluke  More accurate sensing, or at least easier to calibrate sensors  Wi-Fi connection to the Scribbler, for faster reaction and longer range  At the cost of extra battery usage
