2. What is Rainbow Society?
Rainbow Society is a non-profit entity committed to providing financial assistance to VCUHS employees in times of crisis for emergencies such rent, food, utilities and medical expenses.

3. What are the requirements?
Who can use Rainbow Society?
Completing an application that can be accessed on the Intranet under Benefits. * The brochure can be printed, completed and submitted to HR Express on Main 2 or Box * Please include all supporting documentation in reference to your need * Submit a copy of your last pay stub. All information is kept strictly confidential.
Any VCUHS team member can apply who has been employed for at least one year.

4. Question & Answer Do I have to repay any funds I am awarded?
No, repayment is not expected but donations are appreciated once the applicant’s personal situation improves.
How can I check the status of my application?
The Rainbow voice mail is available
for applicants to leave a brief
message. The service is checked
regularly and messages are
forwarded to the members of the
committee.
How will I know if Rainbow Society will help?
When recipients are awarded assistance they are contacted by a committee member via phone or a letter in the mail.
How long will it a take before I receive a response?
This is not the committee members only role; they also hold and are committed to other department positions within the Health System. Their goal is to respond as soon as possible to each applicant.

5. Rainbow Society Contributions
The Rainbow Society relies primarily on the generosity of the MCV AUXILIARY and VCUHS employees for funding.
*Any size contribution is appreciated;
you can choose to give a one-time
donation or on an ongoing basis
through payroll deduction.
* Our gift card sales are located next
to the Medical Information kiosk
each Friday.
* A percentage of gift card sales is
returned to the Rainbow Society
to help families in crisis.
Through your purchase you give a gift at no cost to you.
