4  Offer wide variety of products to be sold.  Flowers, Balloons, Giftware, Plants, Delivery, Charge Accounts,

5  Target a specific need.  Wedding Shop, Potted Plants, Bridal Shop

6  Caters to elite clientele.  Products are higher.  Same as a Full- Service Shop

7  Cash and Carry operations.  Purchase by stem or by then bunch.  Located in larger cities, inside a building or on the street.

8  Specialty/party work for exclusive client base.  Operate from a warehouse.  Most sales are by appointment at customers home or business

9  Purchased from a parent company operated by company rules.  Instant recognition for business.  % of sales go to parent company.

10  Located in stores. Ex. Krogers  Offer: Potted Plants, Balloons, Cut Flowers  Cash and Carry  No delivery service

11  Purchase flowers from around the world.  Supplies them to the florist shops.  Provides: Plants and supplies needed for the store.

13 Individually owned Family Operated Employee less than 10 people Employee will be asked to do various jobs in the store.

16  Hire and Fire people.  Training people for their specific job.  May not handle routine sales.  May handle Weddings, Parties, and Large Parties

17  Training to become a floral designer.  Coordinates the orders for the designer.  Job Shadow the designer and learn to make arrangements under their directions.  Assistant Designer will become a Designer after 1- 2 Years.

18  Designs floral arrangements.  Must care for flowers and materials to make floral arrangements.  Must be able to make a variety of arrangements.  Must produce quality product to be sold to the public.

19  1 st person you meet in the store.  Must be very versatile in selling products.  Must have knowledge of Flowers, Giftware, Flower Care, and Floral Designs.  Must have a Good Attitude!!!

20  Well Groomed  Package products  Be able to repair arrangement if needed.  Make speedy delievery.

21  Most training is received on the job.  Most start out as sales person in a floral shop.  Must have an artistic ability.  High School Agricultural Classes (FFA)  Floral Design Schools after graduation.
