8. “PERCENT OF” The Facts:  The word “percent” means “for each 100”.  The word “of” means to multiply.  To convert a percent to a decimal (D2P), you need to move the decimal to the left 2 places. [Why?, because you are technically dividing by 100. Remember, a per-cent is out of 100!] Example #1: What is 35% of 200? Answer: (.35)(200)=70
