What do you do when you don’t get your way?

Submission is not cowardliness, weakness, lack of conviction, mindless compliance. Submission is the courage to graciously allow something to go someone else’s way instead of my way.

I Peter 2:11-12 (NLT) - Dear brothers and sisters, you are foreigners and aliens here. So I warn you to keep away from evil desires because they fight against your very souls. Be careful how you live among your unbelieving neighbors. Even if they accuse you of doing wrong,

they will see your honorable behavior, and they will believe and give honor to God when he comes to judge the world.

Submission to Government, Employer, and Spouse.

Government: Acts 5:29 (NLT) “We must obey God rather than man.” Similar verses:  Titus 3:1-2  Romans 13:1-2

Slavery/Employer Eph 6:5-8 (NLT) - Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ. Work hard, but not just to please your masters when they are watching. As slaves of Christ, do the will of God with all your heart.

Work with enthusiasm, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will reward each one of us for the good we do, whether we are slaves or free.
