3 What is an LPA? 5 Who can make an LPA? 6 Why make an LPA? 10 LPA’s – Personal Welfare  Consent to or refuse to consent to:  Life sustaining treatment - Artificial nutrition or hydration - Any decision a doctor considers necessary to sustain life  The LPA must specify the donors intentions and instructions

12 Back Door Euthanasia? NO. Section 62 of the Act emphasises that nothing done in the Act effects laws relating to murder, manslaughter or section 2 of the Suicide Act 1961 NO.
