TITLE: Jesus Changes Everything TEXT: John 1:14-18 THEME: If Jesus had never been born, we would not know God, and we would have no victory over sin, evil, and death.

What if Jesus had never been born?

John 1:1-14 “14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. 15 (John testified concerning him. He cried out, saying, “This is the one I spoke about when I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.’”)

John 1:1-14 “16 Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given. 17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.”

I.There would be no "God with us." "Who is our 'Secret Admirer,' this God who made me?"

What is Jesus had never been born?

Jesus said "No one knows the Son except the Father. No one knows the Father except the Son. No one knows the Son except the Father reveals him to him."

Jesus said "No one knows the Son except the Father. No one knows the Father except the Son. No one knows the Son except the Father reveals him to him." So how do we know God? We know God because of Jesus.

Isaiah wrote God became "Immanuel, God with us."

Isaiah wrote God became "Immanuel, God with us." Otherwise, God would have no face, no ears, and no heart we would not understand God.

Jesus said "If you have seen me, you have seen the Father; for I and the Father are one."

Jesus said "If you have seen me, you have seen the Father; for I and the Father are one." If Jesus had not come on Christmas, we would have no knowledge of what God is like. We would not understand how Jesus could identify with us and how we could relate to him.

Three Names for Jesus "Son of David." That is Jesus' Jewish name. He came out of the tribe of Judah. Son of David speaks of his racial heritage.

Three Names for Jesus "Son of David." That is Jesus' Jewish name. He came out of the tribe of Judah. Son of David speaks of his racial heritage. "Son of God." Even a demon said, "He is the Son of God." Used by the Roman Centurion on that day at the cross.

Three Names for Jesus "Son of David." That is Jesus' Jewish name. He came out of the tribe of Judah. Son of David speaks of his racial heritage. "Son of God." Even a demon said, "He is the Son of God." Used by the Roman Centurion on that day at the cross. "Son of Man." Eighty times in the New Testament, Jesus is called Son of Man. That was his favorite designation for himself.

Jesus said "The Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost."

Jesus said "The Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost." "The Son of Man, when he comes, will come with his mighty angels."

Jesus said "The Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost." "The Son of Man, when he comes, will come with his mighty angels." "Just like Jonah was buried three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, even so must the Son of Man be buried deep in the heart of the Earth; but he'll arise again."

Jesus said "I thirst. Get me some water to drink. Draw from this well, and let me share this with you."

The Bible Jesus was tempted in every point just like we're tempted. And yet, he fought back; he didn't give in, where sometimes we do.

II.There would be no victory.

1 John 3:8 The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil's work.

The Works of the Devil Affects us mentally.

The Works of the Devil Affects us mentally. Affects us in our motivation.

The Works of the Devil Affects us mentally. Affects us in our motivation. Affects us morally

I Corinthians 15 “We will all be changed: We shall see him as he is. And we shall be like him. For this corruptible must put on the incorruptible. This mortal must put on immortality. And then shall be brought to pass this saying: 'Death is swallowed up in victory,"

Isaiah "For unto us a child is born. To us a Son is given. And the government will be on his shoulders. [It hasn't happened yet. It will.] And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Isaiah "Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom establishing it and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever." He will reign one day.”

If we had it to do over again, we'd come to Jesus because of his love. At Christmas, love came down-love that was going to bear the terrible price for our sins.

The Angel at Christ Birth "I bring you good tidings of great joy. For unto you is born this day, in the city of David, the Savior, who is Christ the Lord." "And the light came into the world, and we beheld his glory, the glory as the only begotten of the father, full of grace and truth. And the darkness could not overcome the light!"
