9 Hand-scapes -The project…
You are going to combine realistic hand drawing and a landscape. You should use the elements of design that we have discussed before – show good composition. You should also use the principles of design that we have discussed before – showing all of the values and textures when shading. It must include at least 2 hands!!

You need to figure out a creative way to combine hands and a landscape. They should work together and make some sense.

18 It’s okay for the landscape to be a
“Fantasy-scape”!!!

19 Brainstorm – What kind of landscape are you going to use. Fantasy
Brainstorm – What kind of landscape are you going to use? Fantasy? Realistic?

20 Something else to consider
Remember that your hands must be APPROPRIATE!!!

21 Magnified - - The project…
You will create a drawing that will include a magnifying glass. Part of your image must be magnified (inside the magnifying glass), and part of your image must remain unchanged. Selection of magnified area is an important decision!

22 Magnified – continued…
You can start with an original unchanged drawing or photograph if you want, and then magnify a certain section and redraw that particular area, or, you are welcome to take a photograph of your own, that includes a magnifying glass in the original image.

23 It doesn’t have to magnify the eye – perhaps they chose the mouth for a reason…
It could be a portrait of you or someone you know!

24 I like the way that the magnified area of the image is in focus, and the background is not…. Interesting! The artist chose to “break” the magnifying glass in this case.

25 It doesn’t have to be a person!

26 Composition still matters
Composition still matters. Make your overall drawing look interesting - - the composition of the guitar image is more interesting than the flower, because it’s following the “rule of 3rds.”
