2 Beach and Tide Pool

3 Sponges by Gabrielle A sponge is an animal that lives at the bottom of the ocean. Sponges do not have arms, heads or internal organs. They live attached to rocks, plants or other objects. They eat krill that float by. There are 5000 kinds of sponges. They can be orange, purple,red or green.

4 Sea Anemone by Gabrielle A sea anemone lives in coral reefs where it is warm and shallow. The sea anemone has stinging tentacles to protect itself and the clown fish. The colors are pink, orange, yellow and light blue. It grabs small creatures floating past it in the water.

5 Sea Urchins by Alyssa L Sea urchins live in ocean bottoms all over the world. Some sea urchins could be different colors, shapes and sizes. Parts of the body are the tentacles, and the bottom of the sea urchin. They eat small marine plants in the water.

6 Seagulls by Katalina Seagulls live near the ocean. They eat fish. The colors are white and gray. The beak is orange. They live in a nest. Some seagulls find food outside the school building.

7 Cuttlefish by Dennis Cuttlefish mainly live in the coral reef and twilight zone. They look like the squid. They have 2 tentacles and 8 arms. They’re different colors like orange or white. Their size is 10 feet long and 8 inches high. They eat fish by shooting their tongue like an arrow.

8 Shrimps by Kyle Shrimps have hard shells. Shrimp are scavengers. They have jointed legs. They shed the shell when it is too small. They grow a new one that is bigger. They eat dead and rotten things.

9 Starfish by Alyssa B Some starfish live in the tide pool and on the beach. Some have a lot of arms. Lots of starfish can come in many different colors and sizes. Starfish and sea stars look like stars. They eat clams, fish, mussels and shellfish. They pull open the shells.

10 Red Rock Crabs by Joshua Crabs live in the tide pool and beach. Crabs usually live 5 to 7 years. The outside is made out of calcium. They eat dead and rotten things. The middle of the crab claws have teeth. The bottom is called the fixed finger. The size is 5 inches or longer. The color is red and some black.
