3 Characteristics Dogs are one of the most popular pets in the world Dogs exist in a wide range of sizes, colors, and temperaments

4 Housing Dogs have been domesticated and should live indoors with human affection Certain breeds can adapt to outside living with proper protection from the elements Exercise is necessary for most dogs. Amount of exercise needed varies according to the size of the animal, age, breed and what the dog is being used for.

6 Information Gestation about 63 days Wean 6 weeks Lifespan – varies according to breed 6-15 years Sexually mature – 6-12 months

7 Where is the best place to get a dog? Shelter – 3-4 million animals euthanized each year Puppy stores are bad – they get dogs from puppy mills RESEARCH breed and experience dogs energy level before adopting DON’T BREED OR BUY WHILE HOMELESS ANIMALS DIE
