3 In Spanish nouns are either masculine or feminine. The singular definite articles el and la (which mean the) tell you if the noun is masculine or feminine. Los and las are the plural ways to say the. la niña el niño los niños

4 The singular indefinite articles un and una (which mean a / an) tell you if the noun is masculine or feminine. Unos and unas are the plural ways to say some / a few. una niña un niño unos niños

8 Make a noun singular before using the LONERS and DIónZA rule. To make a noun that ends in a consonant plural, add an –es and change the article. el animal  los animales To make a noun that ends in a vowel plural, add an –s and change the article. el niño  los niños

9 To make a noun that ends in a -z plural, drop the –z and add –ces and change the article. el lápiz  los lapices
