2 The cooperation between Albanian and Montenegro HEI`s Among 20 ongoing projects, we are partners in 7 projects More intensive cooperation during the 4-th Call: among 5 awarded projects, partners in 3 Different fields: Phd studies in Mathematical sciences; biotechnologies in HE, advancement of languages studies, building capacity for structural reform, vocational studies in the field of Digital Television Multimedia, literacy for LLL and knowledge economy and Human Rights in HE http://eacea.ec.europa.eu/tempus

3 JPCR 517319-UK “Developing Human Rights Education at the Heart of Higher Education” This consortium consists of fifteen universities It is led by Roehampton University, United Kingdom Awarded grant: 946.842 Euros Contract duration: 36 months  University of Donja Gorica, XM  University of Montenegro, XM  University “Marin Barleti”, AL  European University of Tirana  University of Tirana, AL

4 The main objectives of the project -the project will support the creation and development of multi- disciplinary courses & programmes at degree level (graduate and postgraduate) in human rights & citizenship education in 11 HEI of WB (3 Alb, 2 XM.2 XK, 2 Serbia, 2 BiH); -improve academic staff capacities and skills to develop human rights curricula, in accordance with EU standards -opportunities for staff to be trained on how to implement innovative teaching and learning pedagogies in human rights education. http://eacea.ec.europa.eu/tempus

5 The objectives of the project -Enhancement of student’s participation in a learning environment grounded in human rights principles, improve their skills and knowledge to their future employability. -Mainstreaming of gender issues and women's rights across programmes and courses; (echo in our national strategies) -Enhancement of mutual understanding and cooperation amongst universities in the region, by sharing and developing sustainable programmes of study and practice in human rights. 6 Some of the outputs of the project Year One 2012 - Curricula Review -Reviewing existing curricula within each university, -setting up base line measurement of existing programmes and courses, During this year, two workshops will bring together EU and WB staff involved in the delivery of human rights education courses focusing in: 1. Human rights pedagogy 2. Human rights Learning and Teaching 3. Ethical issues in human rights education http://eacea.ec.europa.eu/tempus

7 Some of the outputs of the project Year two, 2013: Curriculum Development the focus will be on curriculum development and preparation for the first cohort of students at each university. -1 workshop to work on programme and course content, teaching and learning strategy, accreditation and validation, assessment and evaluation. -2 workshop will also address the development of marketing and recruitment strategies towards the first cohort of students During this year, staff will also be involved in personal and professional development through exchanges within the Region http://eacea.ec.europa.eu/tempus

8 Some of the outputs of the project Year Three 2014 Curriculum Launch The first student cohort will start in each university. In addition a selection of students from the first cohort will undertake specialist training in an EU university focusing on documentary film making in human rights education, gender and media as a contribution to their overall degree. http://eacea.ec.europa.eu/tempus
