3. The newly formed couple were told they could freely eat of the fruit of all the trees in the garden, but of one tree, in the center of the garden, they were not to eat.

4. It was called the 'Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil' and God told them that in the day that they would eat of that tree, they would be under the sentence of death!

5. God had to give Adam and Eve a chance to demonstrate their loyalty. Would they obey God and live? Or would they choose otherwise.

6. The test was made as easy as possible, just one tree out of thousands was to be left alone.

7. They also knew that it was only at this tree that the rebel angel would be allowed to tempt them. It would be so easy just to stay away from it.
