2 8th Grade Agenda 12/9 Learning Target: Medical professionals contribute to health and wellness. Finish Biomedical Careers Book Project (extra day to work if needed). Answer Conclusion Questions on packet (homework if not done in class). Rate self and partner on packet. Put packets in book for turning in. If finished with 1-4, complete Medical Detectives Crossword (turn in to box).

7 Conclusion Questions Where are most of your taste buds located on your tongue?  What are the five tastes? Why is it important for humans to crave both salty and sweet foods?  Explain the events that occur when you smell apple pie. Include the following words: olfactory epithelium, smell receptors, olfactory nerve, and olfactory bulb. Explain what is meant by the term olfactory fatigue. Explain the drawing of the Homunculus. Why are areas such as the lips, hands, and feet drawn larger than areas such as the arms and legs?
