1 1. On this page I want you to take your time and in a very detailed manner please provide everything you do in an average day(start when you wake up and end when you fall asleep 2. Please identify 5 time management concerns in your average day. (BE VERY CRITICAL OF YOURSELF) 3. LIST 5 TIME CONSCIOUS IDEAS THAT YOU FEEL YOU CAN MAKE HAPPEN IF YOU PUT YOUR MIND TO IT! 4. LIST 5 Rewards that you would like when you accomplish a positive task. 5. NOW I’m going to pass out a blank outline of an entire week! You guessed it, now I want you to plan out your entire week, starting on Monday. 6. CRITERIA – Each day must have at least one 20 minute block to accomplish a Positive task. STAMPED

3 Scientific studies show us that: The retrieval practice effect/testing effect testing yourself boosts retention of material. Put it in your own words, make connections actively processing material helps master it. Spread studying over multiple days spaced rehearsal, interspaced with other subjects, is more efficient than cramming. If the concept looks familiar… not good enough people tend to overestimate their mastery.

4 Survey Scan/Skim what you are about to read, especially chapter outlines and section heads. Questio n Ask questions that the text might answer; write guesses. Read Look for the answer to your questions, reading a manageable amount at a time. Rehears e Recall what you’ve read in your own words. Test yourself with quizzes. Review Look over text and notes and quickly review the main ideas of the whole chapter.

5  WE ARE GOING TO DRAW A LINE dividing our paper into two!  On left side write out skim “The Story of Psychology” beginning on page 1. Look over the section headings, etc. PLEASE LEAVE SPACE b/c you will write questions about each section/subsection  On Right Side you are going to write out the answers to our questions.
