3 AP Drawing Drawing is defined as ‘MA RK MAKING’’ (any mark made by hand). This includes: Graphite, Colored Pencil, Pastel, any type of Paint, Printmaking, Charcoal, and various other types of media

4 Student AP Drawing Examples

5 AP 2D Design 2D Design includes all types of media used in drawing but also includes collage, photo transfer, digital, and photography

6 AP 3D Design 3D Design includes any type of sculpture. Any 3D medium is allowed

8 What is required to take an AP Studio Art course? Must have completed Art I (Beginning Art) Must have ample TIME to work outside of class Must have a strong work ethic and know how to manage your time Must LOVE ART!  AP Studio Art is a Freshman College level course  These courses require students to purchase his / her own materials  A class set of some media is available to work with in class to reduce having to travel with all materials

9 Format of Artwork and Portfolio Submissions A total of 24 pieces are required for the AP Drawing and AP 2D Design courses. 20 pieces are required for the AP 3D Design course. All pieces will be submitted digitally  BREADTH- 12 pieces Must show a variety of media, approach, and subject matter- teacher guided directives  CONCENTRATION- 12 pieces. Student creates a body of work that is an in depth investigation into a specific concept and media (student’s personal voice)  QUALITY- 5 actual pieces mailed to the College Board (of the original 24 pieces)
