The terrain restricts the amount of crops to be transported. The Carpathian mountains are an example of such a terrain as they split the country in half. The Danube River, which is to wide for bridges, flows through Romania into the black sea acting as a barrier. Therefore these two terrain features restrict the amount of food income. The people in the center of Romania can`t get fresh fish so they transport them in tanks while there still alive to be sold in a market. This has been life in Romania.

Romania has a bad quality of life due to the deteriorating government. There isn`t enough money to go around and many are working in Italy for higher pay. Some people are forced to move away many will never return. It has not been this bad since 1998. I'd say that things are pretty bad.

Romania has a rich cultural heritage. If a Romanian ever invites you over to their house, bring chocolate and an odd number of flowers because an even number is used in burials. The country's languages include Romanian and Hungarian. They gained their independence from the Ottoman Empire in 1878. They where neutral in World War 1and 2 but later joined the Allies in both. Soccer is the most popular sport, the tradianal sport is Oina. The main religion is Christian. This is a glimpse of Romania's culture.

There have been protests in Romania about health care reforms since prime minister Raed Arafat quit. There have also been clashes between demonstrators and riot police in the capital. Some are calling for president Basescu`s resignation. These are some of the recent events of Romania.

This is my report on Romania and I hope you had fun learning about this amazing country. the end
