3 Focus Areas & Objectives Key Focus Areas/ GoalStrategic Objectives Address the control environment  Ensure compliance to AISA’s mandate; PFMA and Supply Chain Management (SCM); Labour Law and sound Human Resource policies  Improve corporate governance  Monitoring and evaluation Improve risk management  Provide and maintain an Information Technology infrastructure  Liaise with auditors to mitigate the costs and the impact of identified risks  Minimize the potential negative operational impacts caused by limited financial delegation of authority  Explore the viability of maintaining current lease (dependent on improved building maintenance) and or identify new premises (dependent on office grid allocation and costs)  Develop succession plans to ensure transfer of institutional knowledge Build strategic relationships with Government departments, scientific institutions and organizations  Ascertain areas of joint interest with government departments, scientific institutions and organizations to mitigate output costs.  Create opportunities for obtaining commissioned research contracts  Explore fundraising potential offered by governments, UN bodies and other organisations Develop internal staff and create conditions to induct more Researchers and or students into the Science and Technology streams  Skills development of staff, interns, fellows, young and post- graduate graduates.
