The Recommending Instructor must now register (for the purposes of this overview – though in reality, the RI could have registered long before or even after the applicant). The RI registration is far less complex than the applicant registration. This is due to the validation process IACRA uses to ensure that the data requested from the RI at registration is validated in national FAA databases as being accurate and current.
