 I chose this because I saw one and I thought it would be interesting to learn about them. I also chose this topic because a lot of people don’t know what Tarsiers are and I knew that no one would pick this topic.

 Tarsiers have a small body and very big eyes.  They lack vision.  They tend to be very shy when around people.

 A Tarsier’s brain is as big as their eyes.  Their third finger is about the same length as their upper arm.  Each eyeball is approximately 16 millimeters in diameter.  Their Latin name is Tarsius Syrichta.  Their tail is hairless except for the bottom tip.  Their stomach is lighter than their outer skin.

 Most Tarsiers are found around Southeast Asia. Some of their fossils have been found in Asia, Europe, and North America.

 Mangroves  Secondary forest  Lowland rainforest

 Snakes  Lizards  Bats  Birds  Crabs  Insects

 Tarsiers catch insects by jumping on them.  Sometimes when a Tarsier jumps from tree to tree it can catch a bird while in motion.

 Young Tarsiers are born with fur, and with open eyes. They are also able to climb within a day of birth.

This Tarsier has its ears up and his eyes are wide open. He is surrounded by trees and branches. He is up on a tree branch and is with another Tarsier. The sun is shining through the trees. One of the Tarsiers are looking out. A B
