3. What are some examples of acceptable search patterns? O Strip/Line O Grid O Spiral O Circle O Quadrant/Zone

4. How is a strip/line search conducted? O The area is partitioned into lines or narrow strips O Investigators move up and down the lines/strips as though they are mowing a lawn

5. How is a grid search conducted? O The same way as a strip/line search, but crisscrossed.

6. How is a spiral search conducted? O Investigators follow an inward or outward spiral O Like the yellow brick road

7. How is a circle search conducted? O Investigators begin at the center of an area and spread out in ever-widening concentric circles O A wooden stake with a long rope is driven into the ground at the center of the area and knots are tied in the rope at regular intervals

8. How is a quadrant/zone search conducted? O The area is divided into quadrants or zones O Investigators search one area at a time or are assigned to a specific quadrant/zone
