Report from the Chair BCS-IRSG European Conference in IR –ECIR 2011 Dublin –Very well run and successful conference –Excellent number of submissions & quality -45 papers accepted from 223 papers submitted (rate 20% - 62% students of those accepted were students) -17 Short papers accepted from 48 papers (rate 35%) -24 Posters, 6 Demonstrations from 64 submitted (rate 46%) -2 well regarded keynote speakers –Sponsorship from: Google, MS Research, Yahoo! Research, DCU, SFI, Bing, Failte Ireland, Clarity, CNGL, Yahoo! Labs, Meet in Ireland. –2nd KSJ Award: Keynote speaker

10. Report from the Chair BCS-IRSG European Conference in IR –ECIR 2012 to be held in Barcelona: 1-5 April 2012 -Organised by Yahoo! Research and Universitat Pompeu Fabra -Discussion on papers ends soon -Notifications Shortly –ECIR 2013 -Only one bid -Awarded to Yandex, Moscow (1st ECIR in Eastern Europe).
