Good morning! BELL Work (4 min.) Back to normal! Set up today’s pages 90-91 Under the IN on the top of page 90, Copy the questions below to answer during a short video. 1.Weather describes conditions in the _________. 2.What steps of the water cycle are being described? 3.Explain how changes in weather differ from changes in climate.

Investigate how radiated heat affects equal amounts of water and sand. Relate weather and climate conditions to the results of this investigation. Level 4 I can evaluate how weather models use current atmospheric conditions to predict the weather and analyze climate data to take a stance on the possibility of climate change. Level 3 I can describe how global patterns such as the jet stream and ocean currents influence local weather AND clearly differentiate between weather and climate. Level 2 I can describe how ocean currents and winds move around the Earth, list factors that influence weather formation, and summarize examples of weather and climate data. Level 1With help I can explain some factors that influence weather and the difference between weather and climate.

1.Weather describes conditions in the ________________. 2.What steps of the water cycle are being described? 3.Explain how changes in weather differ from changes in climate. Bellwork “IN” questions Atmosphere (or troposphere) Changes in weather happen ALL the TIME. Changes in climate are much less likely to happen because it takes a lot longer. Rising water vapor (evaporation) This vapor eventually condenses in clouds that form rain (precipitation).

Today’s Lab Copy the title of the lab and the data table into your notebook on today’s THROUGH page 91.

Let’s Discuss

What do you notice about the Latitude and temperature comparison between Iowa and London, England? Explain why.

Level 1 With help I can explain some factors that influence weather and the difference between weather and climate.
