Europe Day Quiz Monday 10 May 2010 @ 7:00pm Free Buffet To mark Europe Day 2010 the European Documentation Centre is organising a light-hearted EURO-QUIZ to test your knowledge of all things European – current affairs, the people and countries of Europe, food and drink, history, sport and the arts (and a few questions about the European Union). There is no cost to take part, and a buffet with wine and soft drinks will be provided. During the evening we will be taking a collection for charity.

The EU in the News… European Citizens Initiative The Lisbon Treaty introduces a new form of public participation in European Union policy shaping, the European citizens initiative, which enables one million citizens who are nationals of a significant number of Member States to call directly on the European Commission to bring forward an initiative of interest to them in an area of EU competence In March 2010 the Commission launched a consultation in preparation to launch the ECI

11. 4-5 May 2010 European University-Business Forum The forum is an opportunity to network, showcase successful partnerships and discuss new forms of co-operation. Participants discuss how universities and businesses, in particular SMEs, can join forces to contribute to smart, sustainable and inclusive growth. The forum explores how co-operation can be linked to regional development, innovation and the quality of education.
