8  Create an action plan by answering the following questions:  What is the goal of school wide literacy? What do we want students to know and be able to do? Example: Our goal is that students will increase reading and responding scores on state assessments by 5 NPR points from 65 th % to 70 th %.  What actions will we take to do this? Example: We will use incentives to encourage increased use of AR by all students in the form of seasonal or ongoing competitions. Example: We will use individual goals setting with incentives to encourage students to meet % correct goals in their AR quizzes.  Who will be responsible? Example: School leaders will provide incentives from school funds and/ or donations. The librarian will be responsible for administrative duties of the AR program and for printing final results reports. Homeroom teachers will be responsible for assisting students in monitoring their own AR use. Master teacher will display student successes on a public bulletin board to encourage student participation.  What resources do we need to implement this plan? Example: Each homeroom will need computers or mobile devices that can be used for AR testing.  How will we measure success? Example: Percent correct scores from the prior year state assessment for reading and responding will be compared to this year to determine any improvement.
