An Overview of the Faculty of Computer Science & Information Technology Started as Computer Center within University of Malaya in 1965 Became Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology in 1994 Currently has approx. 959 students (as at June 2010) 589 postgraduate ~ 370 undergraduate and ~ 65 lecturers + 25 administrative + 14 technical staff

Directions of the Faculty Increasing emphasis on quality education –Graduate within 4 semesters (Masters) / 8 semesters (PhD) (financial rewards for early completion for PhD students) –Have the necessary knowledge and soft skills Increasing emphasis on research and publication –Increased facilities –Incentives for students doing research, e.g. financial support, conference participation, publication, etc.
