Can you explain how animals are adapted to certain climates Starter: This three sectioned invertebrate can lift objects up to 100x its own body weight. Can you guess what it is?

5 Hot Climate vs Cold Climate Adaptations In your pairs, one person will be HOT CLIMATE ADAPTATIONS and the other person will be COLD CLIMATE ADAPTIONS. The HOT’s will go the left of the room and the COLD’s to the right. You will 3 minutes to memorise the information before returning to your pair. You will then talk to each other in order complete your tables.

6 Hot versus Cold Adaptations Large surface area to volume ratio to reduce heat loss. Small ears to reduce heat loss. Thick Fur for insulation. Blubber for insulation and to store energy. Small surface area to volume ratio to increase heat loss. Large thin ears to increase heat loss. Thin Fur to increase heat loss. Specially adapted kidney to reduce water loss.
