Doug Evans GDT 2007 International User Conference: Evolving the Legacy July 29 – August 1  Lake Las Vegas, Nevada Calling Web Services  Prerequisite: GDT V5.0  On the mainframe n Is never directly attached to the internet for security reasons n To make a connection between the GCOS and the WWW you always need to setup one or multiple gateways that are connected to the WWW. n Physically this can reside on the same machine by using several partitions (ports). n These gateways have IP address and associated names. n On these gateways you configure a service for EACH web- service that you want to use. (SERVICES file) n The communications will be handled thru unique PORTS and associated names (need to be specified then in the SERVICES file). By configuring the gateway(s) they know how to execute the appropriate web-service.

This command can then be used in JCL.  In GDT V5.0, CPDF will be made available to COBOL programs by supplying a call interface that makes use of the DLL entries.  Additional functionality will include Fonts, CharPerLine and a GUI  CMD line entry: n GDTPDF1 PDF-TEST.lsq PDF-TEST.pdf
