1 Purpose The program is designed to increase soldier and mission readiness, allowing Commanders to track soldier high-risk behaviors within their command. Objectives Train leaders in identifying and reducing high-risk factors Identify and target high-risk behaviors for prevention Promote Risk Reduction as a prevention strategy Prevent unhealthy and destructive behaviors Increase soldier and unit readiness Data Collection and Analysis Intervention Delivery Command Consultation Installation Prevention Team Risk Reduction Purpose Risk Reduction Purpose

2 Matrix Report Shot Group Unit Ranking Trend Line Risk Reduction Web-Enabled Reports The Risk Reduction Program uses high-risk behavior incident data. By statistically comparing the rates of units to the RRP Army rate the software identifies at-risk units.

4 Self Report Survey Information Unit Risk Inventories

5 Introduction to the URI Introduction to the URI Screens for high-risk behaviors and attitudes that compromise unit readiness Asks about alcohol and drug abuse, personal and unit relationships, domestic violence, suicide, crime, perception of the Army environment, and financial problems URI results provide a picture of a unit’s self reported high-risk behaviors

6  53 item questionnaire  Assesses unit propensity for risk in the following areas:  Alcohol/Drug use  Command Factors  Stress Levels  Self Perceptions  Relationships  Safe sex practices  Child/spouse abuse  Violence/Crimes  Suicide  Financial Problems Unit Risk Inventory (URI)

7 Army Approved Command Climate Survey Designed for use at the Company level Screens for high-risk behaviors and attitudes that Compromise unit readiness Only takes 30 minutes to complete Survey No cost to Installation or Units Unit Risk Inventory (URI)

8 Sample URI Questions Question 1 How often do you have a drink containing alcohol? Question 12 Within the past 12 months, have you driven under the influence of alcohol or other drugs? Question 20 Within the past 12 months, have you physically threatened anyone at your work site? Question 31 Within the past 12 months, have you been in financial trouble? 12 12 Effects of Deployment on Soldier Risk Behavior Reintegration Unit Risk Inventory R-URI

13 As part of the Deployment Cycle Support Plan ACSAP developed The Reintegration Unit Risk Inventory (R-URI). The R-URI is a 79-item anonymous questionnaire designed to screen for high-risk behaviors and attitudes affecting unit readiness and personnel well being that may have occurred during deployment or since redeployment. Reintegration Unit Risk Inventory

14 Sample R-URI Questions Question 1 How often do you have a drink containing alcohol? Question 12 Within the past 12 months, have you driven under the influence of alcohol or other drugs? Question 20 Within the past 12 months, have you physically threatened anyone at your work site? Question 31 Within the past 12 months, have you been in financial trouble? Question 33 Within the past 12 months, have you had any suicidal thoughts?

16 The report displays data captured from two stages of deployment.  During deployment Asks soldiers information relating to behavior in theater.  Post-deployment Asks soldiers information relating to behavior at home station during reintegration. R-URI Report
