3 Art 222 :: Digital Multimedia :: Week 11 :: B In-class Presentation :: today’s agenda  Final Project  We will continue our discussion of our final project options  Brief Intro to Flash 8  Major New Features  Interface: tabbed panels  Animation: More control for easing  Design: Filters & Blend Modes  Video: Stand-alone video encoder  Video: New video codec  Video: support for alpha channels  Video: embedded cue points

4 Art 222 :: Digital Multimedia :: Week 11 :: B In-class Presentation :: final project concerns  Criteria for the final project to meet the course outline and objectives:  The final project must be interactive.  We must design an interface:  We must use Flash 8  We should learn Adobe Encore to author a DVD interface  As a shorter alternative, we can use Premiere Element’s DVD authoring tool and “hack” into their preset DVD menu templates in order to create a custom DVD menu – this may save us some time in order to dedicate more toward our project

5 Art 222 :: Digital Multimedia :: Week 11 :: B In-class Presentation :: final project options 1.Flash Interface/Flash mini site  incorporating video into Flash utilizing Flash 8’s new FLV features  Potential ideas include:  An interactive character  Video integrated into the interface 2.DVD Interface/Menu System  incorporating multiple projects onto one interactive DVD with a custom designed menu and layout  Potential ideas include:  Personal Portfolio/Demo Reel DVD

6 Art 222 :: Digital Multimedia :: Week 11 :: B In-class Presentation :: a final project idea combining multiple options 3. Personal Demo Reel Project  Three parts to the assignment: 1.a short video demo reel with custom transitions  Software: After Effects & Premiere  Example: http://www.crossfilms.com/films/demoreels.htmlhttp://www.crossfilms.com/films/demoreels.html 2.an interactive DVD with a custom menu and layout  Software: Adobe Premiere Elements (to save time) 3.an interactive web site (flash)  For those in Art 295, you can use your portfolio class’s web site  For those not in Art 295, we will need to create a very basic flash site to post your content.  Software: Flash 8
