5 Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)  The first and primary certification in information security (Link CISSP 1)

6 Benefits of CISSP Certification  CISSP was the third highest salaried certification in 2009 (Link CISSP 3)  Required for government information assurance employees (Link CISSP 4)  CISSP certification is not only an objective measure of excellence, but a globally recognized standard of achievement (Link CISSP 2)

7 Requirements for CISSP Certification  Five years of experience in information security  The exam costs $550  There are 250 multiple-choice questions  Exam duration: six hours  Subscribe to the (ISC)² Code of Ethics

8 Associate of (ISC)^2 Certification  No experience required (link CISSP 7)  Shows that you passed the exam, and that you are serious about a career in Information Security  Subscribe to the (ISC)² Code of Ethics

9 SSCP - Systems Security Certified Practitioner  Only one year of experience required (link CISSP 8)  Test is 90 minutes long, 50-70 questions  Exam fee: $250 (link CISSP 9)

13 Dates to Know   Sep 10: Class meets at 6:10 Groups finalized, first assignments given   First quiz (Ch 4)   Sep 17: First Manager’s Meeting at 6:10 Regular class starts at 6:30 from now on, with exceptions as shown on samsclass.info First group assignment due

14 Class Meeting Times (Starting Sep 15)   Managers need to show up at 6:10 Manager’s Meeting 6:10 – 6:25   Normal class starts at 6:30 Quiz and lecture Ends by 8:30 at the latest   Group Meetings 8:30 – 9:00
