Studying the Human Language What is Language? What is Language? Do animals have language too? We can do things with language that animals cannot do in their means of communication. Or do you know many dogs who will have a conversation about what they had for lunch last Monday?

Language is what makes us human As human beings, we are born with the ability to acquire any language. When there isn’t one, we are able to create one Nicaraguan Sign Language was created by deaf children in a school for the deaf. Instead of learning an existing sign language, they created their own, which is now the official sign language of Nicaragua.

Did you ever invite someone to your house, when you really don’t want them to come, but you almost feel like you have to invite them? Did you ever proceed to pay at a grocery store, even though the cashier said something to the effect of “no go ahead, it’s a gift?” Did you ever go to someone’s house and you are sitting at the dinner table, and the host offers you more food, even though your dinner plate was full?
