3 Scotland is divided into Highlands and Lowlands

4 EDINBURGH It’s the capital of the country. It’s known as Athens of the North.

5 THE CASTLE

6 The Edinburgh military tattoo It takes place every August and September in front of the Castle.

7 THE ROYAL MILE It’s a line of streets, which runs from the Castle to Holyrood House.

8 HOLYROOD HOUSE It’s a big royal palace which is the residence of the Queen in Edinburgh.

9 THE CANNONGATE It’s the most picturesque part of the Royal Mile.

10 PRINCES STREET It’s the most beautiful street of the New Town.

11 THE SCOTT MONUMENT It’s in Princes Street. It’s 200 feet high. Inside it there is a marble statue of Sir Walter Scott.
