Dance Dance clubs became popular and peaked in the late 1920’s. Most popular Foxtrot Waltz American Tango And new trendy dances Charleston Lindy Hop

Prohibition The 18 th Amendment in 1920 Prohibited manufacture, sale, import, and export of alcohol. Speakeasies were hidden, illegal bars during prohibition. Gangsters such as Lucky Luciano and Al Capone become famous. Prohibition was repealed in 1933.

Changing times for women. The 19 th Amendment gave women the right to vote. Young independent women were called flappers. Flappers were known for wearing short skirts, bobbed hair, excessive makeup, smoking and drinking. Women’s Rights

End of an Era Roaring 20’s come crashing to an end. The Wall Street Stock Market collapsed on October 29 th 1929 This was known as Black Tuesday The end of the Roaring 20’s would be followed by the Great Depression.
