8. Dance Dance clubs became popular and peaked in the late 1920’s. Most popular  Foxtrot  Waltz  American Tango And new trendy dances  Charleston  Lindy Hop

9. Prohibition The 18 th Amendment in 1920 Prohibited manufacture, sale, import, and export of alcohol.  Speakeasies were hidden, illegal bars during prohibition.  Gangsters such as Lucky Luciano and Al Capone become famous.  Prohibition was repealed in 1933.

10. Changing times for women.  The 19 th Amendment gave women the right to vote.  Young independent women were called flappers.  Flappers were known for wearing short skirts, bobbed hair, excessive makeup, smoking and drinking. Women’s Rights

11. End of an Era Roaring 20’s come crashing to an end.  The Wall Street Stock Market collapsed on October 29 th 1929  This was known as Black Tuesday  The end of the Roaring 20’s would be followed by the Great Depression.
