4 2011-2012 Unit Goals Cadet Goals Build a “good to great" AFJROTC program. Establish jobs for all ASII, ASIII and ASIV cadets - where everyone has a leadership position and takes responsibility for their part. Have 15% of ASII, ASIII, and ASIV cadets achieve "state standard" of 21 on the ACT test or higher (last year achieved 10%). School Goals Maintain a 50% ASI retention rate for the ASII course - at least half of the first year cadet’s return. Drill team perform an exhibition drill routine at school basketball games for half time, this will aid in recruiting to a wider audience. Community Goals Establish a better community service program within AFJROTC supporting the West, TN, area. Perform at 3 parades in the West Tenn. area taking at least 75 cadets to each event.

5 Cadet Accomplishments  2009-2011  Distinguished Unit … 3 years running (SY 08-09, 09-10, 10-11)  Air Force Association of Tennessee’s Outstanding AFJROTC Unit of the Year for 2010  Amassed over 3,500 hours of community service (SYs 09-11)  Earned 59 trophies (09-11)… more than previous 12 years combined  Loaded cadets into WINGS…scrubbed data for accuracy  Provided academic tutoring for struggling cadets  Initiated JROTC Honor Roll program  Instituted Movie Night to increase camaraderie  Wrote and mailed over 500 Christmas Cards to our Troops  Developed a Corps Newsletter “The Warrior”…done each Semester  Built school AFJROTC Web Page for student recruiting and education

10 Community Service  RIFA Soup Kitchen (fed the homeless)  Led school canned food drive – collected 1,000 items to help RIFA food bank  Marched Annual Lane College Homecoming Parade (televised)  Color Guard for Jackson Symphony Orchestra’s Salute to Veterans  Veterans Home Visit on Veterans Day and Valentines for Veterans  Marched Annual Jackson Christmas Parade (televised)  Color Guard, Tennessee AFA Annual Banquet (pictured in AFA Magazine)  Represented Jackson Madison County School System, providing a cordon of cadets for the County School Celebration - over 2,000 visitors attended  Color Guard at County Court House for Madison County Mayor’s Swearing In  Color Guard for opening ceremonies of National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Women’s Basketball Tournament  Conducted 38 Color Guards for Home Football and Basketball Games  Marched Annual West Tennessee Strawberry Festival (televised)

12 Sports Day Teams 50+ Cadets Participating  Participated at 10 Sport Day Competitions  23 - 1st Place Trophies  2 - 2nd Place Trophies  5 - 3rd Place Trophies Everywhere we go … people wanta know … who we are … so we tell them … we are North Side … mighty mighty North Side

13 Enrichment Activities  Summer Leadership School - 3 cadets attended  First time unit has ever attended SLS  Cadet Hurt won 1 st Place in Orienteering  Drill Camp – Taught by Competitive Outcomes  30 cadets attended 20 hour camp  The Nationals Drill Camp – Millersburg, KY  2 cadets attended – Cadet Wade won best in regulation drill  Tennessee Army National Guard Unit  Approximately 120 cadets attended
