4 Bureau of Buildings Industry Standards for Maintaining Facilities Funding as a percentage of facility replacement cost 1% will ensure that current facilities are here from one year to the next 2% will enable facilities to receive major renovations to ensure facilities will have 40 to 50 year life and more… 3% takes into account total lifecycle building cost: initial construction, regular minor renovations, periodic major renovations and ultimate replacement Role of the State for funding vs. other sources (Districts, Grants, Private, Revenue Bonds) Formulas versus Named Projects Amounts based upon formulas are vulnerable to reduction Multi-Year Planning Success of IHL 3-Year Plan Potential Decrease in R&R
