To show our appreciation for the support of your child, we are holding a homework pass raffle at the conclusion of the presentation: write your student’s first and last name on a slip place it in their homeroom teacher’s bucket on the stage to enter them in the raffle Thank you!

4 HOMEWORK Daily homework is for practice and to promote student responsibility…it is not used for assessment purposes Major projects in each subject will be graded Expect nightly assignments in at least 2 academic subjects AND all students are expected to read a minimum of 30 minutes per night at their independent level HW Passes can only be used to postpone signatures (1 day) and to excuse nightly assignments…NEVER projects HW expectations/assignments will be on the blog nightly Writing homework down in a planner each day is expected of each student! Planners are provided…$4 donation appreciated.

5 SCORING Work quality is CRUCIAL! Effort counts! 4 = Advanced (96-100%) 3 = Proficient (80-95.9%) 2 = Approaching Proficient (65-79.9%) 1 = Not Proficient (64.9% and below) Homework Projects & Assessments 10 = complete 5 = partially complete M = missing E = excused

11 Strikes are earned when poor choices are made. (Disrespect, put-downs, foul language, repetitive dress code violations, etc.) 3 strikes = loss of 6 th Grade Activity 1 strike = loss of a 6 th Grade Activity (after Spring Break) Any adult on campus can issue strikes *Harassment/bullying of any kind and/or physical aggression are considered major infractions and will receive a strike and immediate referral to the administration for further consequence(s) * One Strike policy after break

12 When: February 8 – 11, 2016 (Monday – Thursday) Where: Camp Marston Cost: $260 (camp and transportation) Cash, money orders, or cashier’s checks ONLY made payable to: Hedenkamp 6 th Grade Camp No personal checks will be accepted. 9/15 - $100 12/15 - $100 1/26 - $60 **Any money fundraised this year will go towards end-of-the-year activities, NOT camp.**

14 No parking in Taber Drive LOOP…it is a pick up/drop off zone ONLY…move forward continuously! ALL 6 th grade students are to line up at the end of the 700 building on the blacktop EVERY MORNING, unless they have a Hall Pass form their teacher. Strikes will be issued for non-compliance. 6 th Grade Packet DUE Fri. 7/24 School Packet DUE ASAP Please join PTA…they support our classrooms and school!
