12 Things to improve If it was in your hands what would you change to help you choose your Area of Studies? A high percentage (40%) of the students know what they want to do and therefore they don’t need much guidance. Students who are not sure about their decision propose:

13 Eso 4 (15-16) To have a general idea of all the subjects To do only the subjects needed for ulterior studies/ professions Try different options before making a decision More information about studies and working world To be older Vocational training in our school or in the neighbourhood

14 1º Batxillerat (16-17) To be able to select subjects and change if we don’t like them More information about studies / professions To be able to approach different subjects before deciding Separate students who want to go to University and those who want to do vocational training

15 2º Batxillerat (17-18) More practical classes. Higher level in ESO More specialized subjects. More information about studies / professions Smaller groups per classroom

16 Conclusions It is difficult to make decisions when one does not have a clear idea about his/her future intentions. A lot of information but little comprehension before all the available possibilities. In ESO 4 they are afraid to take a wrong decision. In BTX 1 they are more interested in finishing school than in future plans. Once in 2n btx everything becomes clearer.

17 In spite of all kind of information, guidance and advice, it is he or she who finally decides what he or she wants to do in life. Education serves to prepare people to face difficulties and take advantage of the opportunities to find their way.
