2 Molecular Compounds Molecular compounds are those made up of exclusively non-metal atoms. Molecular compounds are those made up of exclusively non-metal atoms. Molecular compounds bond by sharing valence electrons to gain a filled outermost shell. As a result, these are referred to as covalent bonds.
