2. HISTORY It was made in the 1920’s. Beach Volleyball has been in the Olympics since 1996. It has now become one of the most popular sports.

3. TEAMS There is twenty-four teams that compete in both men's and women's, with two athletes on each team.

4. F IELD O F P LAY The court is 16m long and 8 m wide. It’s divided into two halves with a net. The men’s net is higher then the women’s.

5. HOW TO PLAY THE SPORT Beach Volleyball is played with a ball that is weighed around 260g and 280g and is made of leather. The point of the game is to land the ball in the opposite side of the court. After someone serves the ball both teams are allowed to have three touches of the ball before putting it to the other teams side. Matches are the bet of three sets, 21 points are needed except for the last set. If you get a serving fault that means that you lose possession of the ball.
